Matt is Hydra Creative’s Head of Video and a long-standing member of the team, having joined the company nearly seven years ago. With a background in animation and visual effects, and over six years of industry experience, Matt brings creative energy, technical expertise, and strategic oversight to every stage of video production.

Originally from Liverpool, Matt moved to Sheffield to study and pursue a career in the creative industries. Since then, he has worked across a wide range of projects, from social-first content to large-scale commercial campaigns, developing a deep understanding of visual storytelling across different formats and platforms. One of his proudest achievements to date is leading Hydra’s first ever TV advert, produced for a local charity, an experience that reinforced his passion for using video to create meaningful, impactful work.

As Head of Video, Matt leads the department’s creative direction, working closely with junior team members to mentor, support, and develop their skills. His leadership has helped shape the team’s identity and raise the standard of visual content produced at Hydra.

Matt is also a key collaborator across the agency, working closely with designers, developers, marketers, and account managers to ensure each video project aligns seamlessly with broader campaign goals. Whether on location, in the editing, or collaborating in concept stages, Matt brings consistency, vision, and attention to detail, making him an integral part of Hydra’s creative leadership.
